From Crisis to Leadership:

Uplifting Namibia’s Youth

Tackling dropout, violence, and mental health; equipping and empowering boys and girls to rise, lead, and build a better tomorrow.

Namibia is facing a youth crisis—rising school dropout rates, growing substance use, high suicide attempts, and widespread gender-based violence. The Otweya Youth Empowerment Program, a collaboration between Live Out Loud Namibia and 4C For All, was created to target these key societal challenges.

This 12-month initiative provides youth ages 10–25 with a safe, inclusive space to grow through mentorship, emotional resilience training, skill-building, and community leadership. Whether facing poverty, pressure, or pain, young people in Otweya and beyond are gaining the tools to reclaim their futures.

Tabita’s Story: From Student to Changemaker

Tabita enrolled in 4C’s Community Mental Health Worker Training in February 2025. Over 12 weeks, she met weekly with Lara and fellow learners from around the world, building a foundation in mental health skills, youth support, and community-driven care. Already working on the front lines with young people in Namibia, she was inspired by the curriculum and reached out to 4C to explore collaboration.

From that connection, the Otweya Youth Empowerment Project was born—a grassroots initiative dedicated to equipping local youth with emotional resilience skills, hope, and purpose.
